sophiekesoglidisBorn in Melbourne, Sophie Kesoglidis began her screen career in the music department performing as a violist on many film and television soundtracks. As a writer and producer, her first stage musical, TANGO’S VIOLIN, was directed by Artistic Director of Perth Theatre Company, Alan Becher, and sold out at City Recital Hall (Sydney), The Famous Spiegeltent (Melbourne) and Downstairs at the Maj (Perth).

During studies at American Film Institute (Los Angeles) in a Master of Fine Arts - Producing, Sophie produced the romantic comedy short film, EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS, which topped the class. She secured coveted locations ranging from CBS Radford’s New York Street (as seen in Seinfeld) and a functioning office Downtown LA (as seen in Mulholland Drive).

In 2008, Sophie produced and independently financed a 13 x 30 lifestyle series, SOPHIE’S WEDDING GUIDE, which followed a couple preparing their wedding, showcased Melbourne’s wedding industry and included a $20,000 wedding competition. Sophie secured principal sponsor, AV Jennings homes.

Sophie has been commissioned by visual artists to create documentary and experimental films, including TAKE ME THERE, which was part of a fundraising campaign.

In 2018, Sophie was a finalist in the ABC Pitch i View competition with her crime thriller concept, DOLL.

She recently wrote, directed and produced THE BLOOD OF GOD, a drama short featuring Jim Russell (Nowhere Boys), Carolyn Bock (Wentworth) and Simone Gescheit (Offspring). Sophie studied in the Advanced Diploma of Professional Screenwriting at RMIT. 

In February 2020, she was the winner of the Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears Exhibition story winner by Every Cloud Productions. Sophie is a member of the Australian Writers Guild (AWG).
